Job summary

First Equipment Company in New York, NY is seeking a skilled estimator for On-site Equipment Rental Programs. You will manage vendor rates, create entitlements, and assemble BOA baskets for bid leveling, while collaborating with Turner Preconstruction and Operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction estimating practices and cost drivers.
• Ability to read and interpret contracts, drawings, specs, and schedules.
• Proven ability to manage multiple bids and schedules under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed rental rate analyses and vendor bid reviews.
• Assemble RFP packages for various program types.
• Lead data management for preconstruction documents and bid leveling workbooks.
• Coordinate with vendors, preconstruction, procurement and operations teams.
• Support site logistics, yard layouts, power requirements and service coverage.
• Develop value analysis to identify cost-saving equipment options.
• Understand program factors for accurate rental estimates (yard size, project size, duration).
• Prepare scope requisitions and ensure complete coverage of equipment types.
• Analyze and compare current estimates with historical data to identify benchmarks.
• Document vendor proposals and participate in post-bid reviews.
• Close out action items and support bid award decisions.
• Other duties as assigned.
