Job summary

The Division of Water, Water Quality program in Alaska is hiring an Environmental Program Specialist in Wasilla to review onsite wastewater disposal systems and ensure they protect public health and the environment.

This permanent, full-time role involves working with homeowners, contractors, and engineers, performing inspections, and coordinating registrations while building community relationships and upholding state regulations. Salary is DOE with ranges provided.

Responsibilities

• Review wastewater system documentation to verify installations protect public health and the environment.
• Work with homeowners, businesses, contractors, certified installers, and engineers on installation, modification, and maintenance of onsite wastewater disposal systems.
• Assist communities in addressing concerns regarding wastewater disposal and manage registration paperwork.
• Serve as the regional onsite wastewater disposal system expert in Wasilla and coordinate inspections.
