Job summary

The Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) at Colorado State University is hiring two Environmental GIS Support Supervisors to oversee on-site and remote staff supporting Air Force installations. You will guide data development, quality control, and project coordination to meet program objectives.

Ideal candidates have five years of GIS leadership experience, strong ArcGIS skills, and proven ability to manage field data collection and reporting across dispersed teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, geographic information systems, geography, environmental science, or a related field.
• Five years of related professional experience; coursework does not substitute for required experience.
• Experience supervising or leading a team or project effort; ability to prioritize work and manage resources.
• Experience with environmental GIS, Esri ArcGIS software, cartography, and spatial data development/maintenance.
• Experience applying GIS data standards and conducting QA/QC for data accuracy and integrity.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate with stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat for technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee GIS staff across multiple installations, assign work and ensure quality standards.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, training, and performance management for staff.
• Coordinate with GeoBase and Environmental Program personnel for effective communication.
