Job summary

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Engineer for a 100 percent remote role, supporting the Environmental business line with a focus on Federal projects. The candidate must reside within the USA and hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus relevant experience.

Responsibilities include planning, sampling, data analysis, regulatory compliance, and coordination with project managers and field staff. Travel may be required; background checks and citizenship verification apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical, mechanical, or environmental Engineering or related discipline and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License; subject to a background check.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Professional registration or on track to obtain registration.
  • Ability to travel for fieldwork within the United States; significant travel possible.
  • Proficiency with standard office software packages.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes basic scientific principles to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
  • Prepare technical work plans and reports.
  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Plan, execute, analyze, and report on environmental measures in natural systems.
  • Apply field techniques to collect samples and manage chain-of-custody.
  • Apply knowledge of chemistry, physics, biology, hydrology, and mathematics to explain observations.
  • Study contaminants and determine restoration approaches.
  • Prepare basic data and scientific documents.
  • Coordinate with project managers, on-site subcontractors, and field staff for data collection and documentation.
  • Provide technical expertise support.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical, mechanical, or environmental Engineering or other related discipline
