Job summary

Stryker Corporation is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to expand the company’s use of data as a strategic enabler. You will design, develop, and implement enterprise data models across conceptual, logical, business area, and application layers.

Qualifications

• College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering.
• Certifications in applicable data engineering and analytical tools.
• 5 years work experience as a data or information architect.
• Hands-on experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis.
• Direct experience in implementing enterprise data management processes, procedures, and decision support.
• Strong understanding of relational data structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Strong familiarity with metadata management and associated processes.
• Hands-on knowledge of enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools, data mapping tools, and data profiling tools.
• Demonstrated expertise with repository creation, and data and information system life cycle methodologies.
• Experience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship planning, database design, reporting structures, and so on.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards with stakeholders.
• Creates short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives and a data management roadmap.
• Establishes processes for metadata governance and data quality tracking.
• Address data-related issues in systems integration and multi-platform environments.
• Collaborates with project managers and business units on enterprise data projects.
• Leads data architecture initiatives for ERP/CRM/SAP implementations and other rollouts.
• Oversees data security, backup, disaster recovery, and archiving plans.
• Mentors staff in data management methodologies and standards.
