Job summary

OU Medicine is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to design and build OU Health’s enterprise data platform. You will lead data modeling, integration, and governance across clinical, research, and administrative domains, ensuring security and compliance while enabling scalable analytics.

You will collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and IT staff to translate complex data needs into robust architectures, supported by modern cloud-based data solutions and governance best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• 5 years of experience in data architecture, database design, or healthcare IT.
• Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7).
• Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT tools, and data integration platforms.
• Programming skills (Python, Java, Scala) and experience with big data technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement scalable, secure data systems (warehouses, lakes, real-time platforms).
• Define and maintain data models across clinical, research, and operational systems.
• Design and oversee data integration pipelines to enable data flow between OU Health and other entities.
• Collaborate with clinical, research, and administrative stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
• Monitor and optimize database performance; implement security and backup procedures; ensure regulatory compliance.
