Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and background in Computer Science.
• Exceptional academic track record from high school and university.
• Proven experience delivering software using Python, Golang, or similar languages.
• Experience with Linux system administration, preferably Debian or Ubuntu.
• Familiarity with modern Linux cloud computing technologies.
• Technical aptitude for understanding complex distributed systems.
• Professional English with excellent presentation skills.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Ability to mentor and support team members.
• Result-oriented and driven to meet commitments.
• Ability to travel internationally twice a year.

Responsibilities

• Lead a distributed team of engineers in your time zone.
• Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
• Manage expectations with engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Advance modern software development practices.
• Participate in code and architectural review.
• Engage with broader teams at Canonical and the open source community.
• Travel to global events for 4 to 6 weeks per year.
