Job summary

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of construction drawings and plans for energy code compliance.
• Knowledge of testing and commissioning requirements for Energy Codes and Standards.
• Familiarity with IECC, ASHRAE standards, and IRC energy provisions.
• Ability to comprehend technical materials and prepare letters/reports.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate rules, provide information, and testify if required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews energy conservation plans for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings for approval.
• Provides inspectors with technical support for code decisions and conducts inspections for compliance.
• Document deficiencies with code citations to facilitate permits and construction start.
• Inspects projects to ensure compliance with approved construction documents.
• Collaborates with other Plans Examiners and inspectors.
• Keeps up-to-date with changes to state and local codes and ordinances.
• Participates in state/national code development processes.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
