Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Planner/Project Manager to support our Energy Practice across the Pacific Northwest and the United States. You will lead environmental planning, permitting, and compliance efforts from project initiation through regulatory approval, managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with clients and agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Geography, or a related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of experience in environmental planning, permitting, project management, or environmental consulting.
  • Experience managing environmental planning or permitting projects.
  • Knowledge of NEPA and state environmental review processes such as SEPA and EFSC.
  • Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies, clients, and multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Excellent technical writing and report preparation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Planner / Project Manager supporting environmental planning, permitting, and compliance projects for energy and infrastructure developments.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communication.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including planners, environmental scientists, engineers, GIS specialists, and permitting professionals.
  • Prepare and manage federal, state, and local permit applications.
  • Support NEPA and state environmental review processes.
  • Conduct land use research, policy analysis, and environmental planning evaluations.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies to facilitate permitting and regulatory compliance.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, public outreach, and agency coordination.
  • Prepare technical reports, planning documents, and environmental compliance deliverables.
  • Support proposal development, project scoping, and business development.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
