Job summary

Valiant Solutions in the Washington DC area seeks a Network Security Engineer to deploy and operate the Network Access Control and perimeter security for a federal agency. You will own Cisco ISE deployment, 802.1X enforcement, endpoint posture assessment, TrustSec segmentation, and the Firepower firewall fleet, along with remote access VPN integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, CS, information systems or related field; 4 extra years of specialized experience may substitute for degree.
• 6+ years of dedicated experience in network security engineering and infrastructure protection.
• Hands-on experience taking a Cisco ISE deployment from partial configuration to enforced 802.1X enterprise-wide.
• Experience operating a production firewall fleet with defined availability standards.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate Cisco ISE configuration, document gaps, and deliver remediation design within 90 days.
• Configure and enforce 802.1X authentication across enterprise for Government Furnished Equipment.
• Integrate ISE with Active Directory/LDAP and enforce HSPD-12 with CAC/Yubikey credentials.
• Build authorization policies to restrict service access to authenticated users and lock compromised accounts.
• Onboard network devices into ISE in phased sequence to raise enforcement coverage.
