Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Director, Full-stack Engineer (Remote-Eligible) to lead multiple product-focused software teams within the Global Payment Network Technology organization. You will drive architectural decisions, partner with executives on roadmaps, and champion a culture of engineering excellence across cloud-native platforms.

You will shape long-term technology strategy, mentor managers and engineers, and recruit top talent while ensuring delivery velocity and system resilience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of people management experience.
• 9+ years of software engineering and solution architecture experience.
• 9+ years in enterprise architecture and design patterns.
• 9+ years of cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• 9+ years of data architecture experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product-focused software engineers.
• Shape long-term technical strategy and architecture standards for enterprise platforms.
• Partner with senior leaders to align roadmaps with scalable technology capabilities.
• Drive talent strategy including succession planning and skill development.
• Mentor and guide engineers on your team.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into market-driven capabilities.
• Lead across Agile teams to design, develop, test, and deploy solutions across full-stack tools and technologies.
• Oversee APIs, scalability and resilience of solutions.
• Stay abreast of tech trends and mentor others in engineering communities.
• Promote innovation and inclusive teamwork across the organization.
