Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Senior Archaeologist to lead the Cultural Resource Group at the Morristown, NJ office. The role requires 5+ years of supervision experience and oversees Phase I–III surveys under the Director's guidance. Remote work is available for non-field duties.

The candidate will author technical reports, manage GIS tools, and coordinate with NJDOT/JNTP/NJDEP/DDC projects. Travel to project sites regionally may be required.

Qualifications

MA or PhD in Anthropology/Archaeology
RPA registration preferred
5+ years of archaeological project supervisory experience
Experience with fieldwork in NYC is preferred
Experience with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat; GIS familiarity a plus

Responsibilities

Supervise and conduct archaeological fieldwork.
Author survey reports including pre-contact and historic contexts.
Prepare field mapping and graphics for report production.
Analyze pre-contact and historic material from the Mid-Atlantic region.
Conduct research at repositories and online resources.
Maintain and organize digital project files.
Participate in professional organizations and regional conferences.
