Job summary

Van Buren County Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Inpatient/Outpatient Coder to support accurate coding, billing, reporting, and compliance. This role involves reviewing clinical documentation, assigning diagnosis and procedure codes, and working closely with various departments to ensure accurate reimbursement.

The successful candidate will undergo onsite training with the potential for a primarily remote arrangement after competency validation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent coding credential preferred.
• Previous inpatient and/or outpatient coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient and outpatient medical records for coding accuracy.
• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and professional service codes.
• Code and abstract patient encounters in accordance with regulatory requirements.
