Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Geospatial Analyst II to support the 3D Hydrography Program across US state and federal clients, with remote positions considered based on experience. You will analyze elevation and hydrography data, and work on automated and manual processing in a multidisciplinary firm.

The role emphasizes lidar workflows, point cloud analysis, and GIS/remote sensing tasks. Experience with Python, GDAL, ArcGIS is preferred; US citizenship and valid driver license required.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of Lidar production workflow and the conceptual basis of Lidar acquisition, processing, and deliverable creation.
  • Ability to analyze point clouds and geospatial data layers derived from point cloud data.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • GISP Certification, ASPRS certifications in Lidar or other Remote Sensing technologies a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Working with elevation data, hydrography, hydrographic networks, and derived products.
  • Creation and analysis of data products and processing results.
  • Working with Watershed Boundary Datasets (WBD) and National Hydrography Dataset (NHD).
  • Feature extraction and attribution.
  • Data Management and Handling: Planning and monitoring production data and backups.
  • Quality control and SOP updates as needed.
  • Support process improvements with other teams to enhance the product line.
