Job summary

Port Gamble S’Klallam Housing Authority is seeking an Executive Director to lead the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the Authority, ensuring sound management and professional business standards. The role oversees 10–15 employees and coordinates with the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe’s Board of Commissioners, Tribal Council, and departments.

The Executive Director will manage rental and homeowner programs, oversee budgets, grants, and reporting, and develop tribal housing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in business development, community planning and development, public policy or related field is required.
• 3-5 years of general or construction management experience is required.
• Previous experience working for an Indian Tribes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs the management of rental and homeowner units and related programs.
• Acts as Contract Officer for contracts; prepares RFPs and bid documents.
• Plans and writes the Indian Housing Plan and Annual Performance Report.
• Manages budgeting, audits, and financial reporting; oversees grant funding.
• Coordinates board/council planning retreats and facilitates meetings with staff and stakeholders.
• Draf ts grant narratives; coordinates with Tribal Council and HUD.
• Travels for local, state, and federal housing meetings and reporting.
