Job summary

The South Dakota Department of Health is hiring a full-time Health Facilities Surveyor to protect the health and safety of residents in licensed facilities. The role surveys activities, dietary, infection control, resident rights, and the physical environment, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Candidates must be licensed for their professional role, with CMS training and precepted surveys provided.

Responsibilities

• Survey patient activities, dietary, infection control, resident rights, and physical environment.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for health and safety hazards.
• Travel with daily per diem and use of a state vehicle during surveys.
• Work from home up to 3 days a week after successful 6-month probation.
• Travel to main office locations for in-office days (Rapid City, Pierre, Mitchell, Sioux Falls).
