Job summary

State of Montana Department of Administration seeks a Financial Compliance Manager in Helena to lead financial compliance for Local Government Services Bureau. You will oversee audits, contracts, and reporting while guiding policy development and risk management.

The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting or related field, with CPA preferred, and experience with financial systems. Telework is allowed with weekly in-office days per state policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA license preferred; direct experience with financial accounting systems and databases is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience; alternatives considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational and data coordination and reporting.
• Develop and update policies and procedures; manage risk and strategic planning.
• Oversee contracts between local governments and auditors; monitor MCA/ARM research.
• Ensure updates to the Compliance Supplement guidance and oversee revenue and collections.
• Conduct internal audit testing and reporting; track legislative monitoring and reporting.
