Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky, Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, Division of Water seeks an Environmental Biologist Supervisor in Frankfort. The role oversees the TMDL and Assessment Section, coordinating field and lab activities and developing monitoring strategies to address water quality challenges.

You will supervise staff, manage data workflows, and interpret regulations to support public health advisories and environmental protection in Kentucky.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a biological, environmental or natural science with at least 30 credit hours in biological sciences.
• Four years of professional experience in research, environmental impact assessment, or related environmental program areas.
• Graduate work in relevant sciences may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience with developing QA/QC plans and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and administer Division policies and regulations related to monitoring waters.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise field and laboratory activities of staff in Monitoring Section.
• Oversee data management workflows and QA/QC data reviews.
• Coordinate monitoring activities for issuance of recreational health and fish consumption advisories.
