Job summary

Michigan Connections Academy is seeking qualified elementary teachers to manage virtual instruction for students in Michigan. You will conduct asynchronous and synchronous sessions, grade work, generate progress reports, and maintain ongoing communication with families and staff.

The role requires Michigan teaching certification, residency, and strong technology skills with Office and Google Suite. Remote work with occasional in-person events is possible, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Qualified and certified to teach the appropriate subject in Michigan.
• Michigan Residency required.
• Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office and Google Suite).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Highly organized and punctual.
• Willingness to travel for in-person events and occasional evenings.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional program with asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction.
• Complete grading, create progress reports and conduct parent conferences timely.
• Communicate with parents, students and teachers to develop Personal Learning Plans and schedules.
• Develop knowledge of the program curriculum and detailed knowledge of courses assigned.
• Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to increase student understanding.
