micro1 is hiring a Software Engineer focused on desktop systems to build a cross-platform Electron-based time intelligence app for MacOS and Windows. You’ll design, implement, and optimize real-time tracking features used daily by professionals in a remote-first environment.

The role emphasizes performance, privacy, and robust offline capabilities, with opportunities to shape product features and collaborate across teams in a distributed company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building production-grade desktop apps with Electron.js.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js skills.
• Experience designing cross-platform MacOS/Windows systems.
• Hands-on work with real-time tracking or activity monitoring.
• Familiarity with OS-level APIs for user/system interactions.
• Deep understanding of desktop performance optimization.
• Strong debugging skills and handling edge cases in distributed/offline systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve a cross-platform desktop agent using Electron.js for MacOS and Windows.
• Build real-time timekeeping systems with background execution.
• Design and implement system-level signal collection with privacy guarantees.
• Develop offline-first data pipelines with background sync and conflict resolution.
• Integrate with distributed backend services and internal APIs for analytics.
• Improve runtime performance, memory efficiency, and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to ship productivity features.
