Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking an Electrical Operations Manager to oversee national electrical construction projects, from preconstruction to closeout, with remote work and travel to client sites across multiple markets. The role requires 12+ years in electrical construction, including leadership of project managers, and a strong grasp of NEC, contracts, and project delivery.

Proficiency with Viewpoint, Procore, MS Project, and Bluebeam is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent).
• 12+ years of progressive electrical construction experience, incl. 5+ years leading PMs or a business unit.
• Experience responsible for P&L, financial forecasting, staffing, and performance across portfolios.
• Proven success delivering large-scale electrical projects in commercial/industrial/mission-critical markets.
• Experience managing geographically dispersed teams, traveling labor, and project mobilizations.
• Strong understanding of NEC, construction methods, contracts, and project delivery.
• Ability to build client relationships, negotiate commercial terms, and staffing/investment decisions.
• Proficiency with Viewpoint, Procore, MS Project, and Bluebeam.
• Willingness to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the division operating plan, including revenue, profit, backlog, staffing, and overhead goals.
• Establish clear accountability for project leaders and review division performance with executive leadership.
• Build relationships with national clients, general contractors, and project partners to secure repeat work and profitable growth.
• Lead commercial discussions within delegated authority and obtain approvals before committing resources or accepting contract terms.
• Oversee project delivery from preconstruction through commissioning, closeout, and final collection.
• Hold project leaders accountable for schedules, labor productivity, procurement, quality, and recovery plans.
• Coordinate manpower, traveling supervision, equipment, and mobilization plans across projects and regions.
• Align estimating, VDC, prefabrication, purchasing, and field operations for efficient installation and timely delivery.
• Confirm project readiness with internal partners, including labor plans, licensing, site logistics, and long-lead materials.
• Own division profit & loss, review WIP, cost-to-complete forecasts, labor projections and margin changes with teams.
• Drive timely billing, change orders, receivable collection, and resolution of unbilled costs and retainage.
• Review contracts and project exposures; elevate risks and lead corrective action with leadership.
• Recruit, develop, and retain project managers and field leaders; build succession plans.
