Job summary

EG&R Engineering PC is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in Power Plants and Substations. The role involves designing electrical distribution systems, overseeing engineers and designers, and supporting substation layout, grounding, and protection schemes.

Qualified candidates will have a degree in electrical engineering (power distribution/systems), a drive to obtain EIT/PE credentials, and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation. Flexible work-from-home options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power distribution/systems.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) goal and PE license is desirable later.
• Experience with electrical distribution systems for power plants and substations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical schematics, single lines, calculations, and specifications for design of electrical distribution systems for Power Plants and Substations.
• Supervise and coordinate Electrical Engineers and Designers in day-to-day tasks to support project needs.
• Review and support the preparation of physical substation design including grounding, lightning protection, and control building arrangements.
• Develop protection and control designs including panel arrangements, single-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC wiring.
• Prepare calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lighting protection, load studies).
• Prepare equipment specifications for procurement.
• Provide short-term field support during construction.
