Job summary

Bowman Consulting in Westminster, CO seeks an Electrical Engineer I to join our team. You will perform electrical design, develop construction documents, and collaborate with engineers, PMs, and clients on project execution.

The entry-level position welcomes candidates with a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and emphasizes growth within design and regulatory compliance, using AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline required at time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients.
• Conduct field observations to document existing conditions.
• Organize/prioritize multiple tasks to complete the design efficiently.
• Complete electrical calculations such as load studies, voltage drop, panel/transformer/feeder loading, and illumination levels.
• Design layout of electrical system devices, distribution components, lighting, fire alarm and related systems.
• Produce construction documents meeting milestones within budget.
• Attend coordination and design meetings; assist with specifications and cost estimating.
• Address comments from AHJs and other review authorities; adjust designs accordingly.
• Review project-related construction administrative items if directed.
• Develop knowledge of codes applicable to the discipline and of AutoCAD and Revit.
