Job summary

Westinghouse is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a 1-year contract. This remote role includes occasional travel to Juno Beach, FL, and focuses on system design, grid optimization, and risk management from concept to execution.

You will bring 11+ years in PLC programming (Schneider Electric preferred), Modbus/DNP3 expertise, Ignition SCADA and HMI development, and strong utility-scale energy project experience, including BESS and energy storage tech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or related field.
• 11+ years of PLC programming experience, preferably Schneider Electric platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Modbus, DNP3 and industrial protocols.
• Experience with Ignition SCADA platform and HMI development.
• Background in power systems and utility-scale energy projects.
• Experience with utility-scale renewables or power generation projects.
• Familiarity with BESS control, inverters and energy storage tech.
• Awareness of grid interconnections and utility standards.
• Travel up to 25% for project commissioning support.
• NERC CIP cybersecurity awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level oversight of engineering and project execution.
• Negotiate technical and regulatory requirements and influence decisions.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams and ensure standard compliance.
• Act as technical authority on engineering standards and practices.
• Manage PPA, LGIA and OEM testing completion.
