Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University CTY seeks an Educational Advisor to support CTY Scholars Program students through high school, offering academic advising, college planning, and mentorship.

You will manage a caseload, monitor progress, coordinate with families, and guide students toward rigorous coursework, standardized test prep, and college applications. Remote nationwide, some evening/weekend availability and travel for annual events required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; counseling or education background preferred.
• Experience advising or mentoring high school students is essential.
• Strong communication and record-keeping skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic and college advising to CTY Scholars (grades 9–12).
• Track progress, document meetings, and maintain student confidentiality.
• Guide college preparation, financial aid planning, and scholarship research.
• Coordinate with families, CTY staff, and external partners for student success.
• Support testing timelines and college application timelines and materials.
• Lead or assist in enrichment, leadership, and career exploration activities.
