Job summary

CannonDesign seeks a senior Education market specialist to lead high-level projects, guiding teams and clients from concept through documentation. You will mentor staff, translate planning concepts for diverse stakeholders, and drive solutions with an emphasis on sustainable design.

Role requires a decade of experience in education spaces, US licensure preferred, and strong communication and coordination with cross-disciplinary teams. Remote-friendly with flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of related experience.
• Experience as a subject matter expert on Education market projects.
• US licensure preferred; LEED accreditation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and coordination with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-level specialist role as SME on Education projects, including team and client leadership.
• Collaborate with project team to provide technical expertise in programming and planning.
• Lead user group meetings to refine program needs and assess space utilization.
• Communicate planning concepts to teams and owners; develop project documentation.
• Translate planning concepts into client-friendly terms; guide design decisions.
• Develop and review planning concepts and solutions; advance Integrated Sustainable Design.
• Develop architectural drawings and specifications for construction documents.
• Develop project scope, plan, and services during contracts process.
• Maintain strong client relationships and mentor junior staff.
