Job summary

Siemens EDA is seeking a technically skilled engineer to develop design methodologies for the Xpedition tool suite and to consult with customers on how to maximize performance in cutting-edge chip, board, and system designs.

The candidate will drive design-flow improvements, liaise with the EBS division for advanced development, and mentor new recruits within the System Practice. Strong programming and scripting skills, plus excellent communication, are essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related field; MS preferred.
• Experience with PCB hardware development and SW development.
• Expertise in EDM design & library methodology, tools, and design flow.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, programming and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Siemens EDA Xpedition tools required.
• Scripting languages such as Python or VBScript; programming in Java helpful.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work effectively in teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop design methodologies to exploit and expand use of Siemens EDA Xpedition products.
• Advise customers on how Xpedition tool suite can maximize performance in advanced designs.
• Identify gaps in customer design flow and articulate possible improvements to increase design capability and reduce Time-To-Market.
• Liaise with EBS product division for advanced development, customizations, and CLS-generated applications.
