Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in editorial design, illustration, digital media, or related fields.
• Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud with preferred experience in motion graphics and video editing.
• Familiarity with Figma preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Clear, concise communication skills.
• Experience in journalism or a news-related environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create original illustrations for The Atlantic across daily coverage and digital features.
• Commission and art direct assignments.
• Work on special projects and magazine content as needed.
• Ensure all work meets The Atlantic’s design and editorial standards.
• Collaborate with editors and colleagues while also working independently to complete tasks.
