Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an Edifecs Application Engineer to administer and optimize the Edifecs platform for VA projects. You will configure XEServer, XEngine, TPM, SpecBuilder and related modules, build processing rules, and ensure secure, scalable EDI workflows.

You will collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, Cloud teams, and business stakeholders, using AWS, IaC (Terraform/Ansible), and agile practices to deliver reliable deployments.

Qualifications

• EDIFECS architecture and transaction lifecycles knowledge.
• Strong AWS cloud environments experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Hands-on platform architecture across Edifecs XEServer, XEngine, TPM, SpecBuilder, EDI Gateway.
• EDI integration and interface management for inbound/outbound connectivity (AS2, SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS) and API-based integrations.
• Root-cause analysis for EDI troubleshooting and performance issues.
• Throughput optimization, JVM tuning, high availability, and monitoring dashboards.
• AWS EC2 sizing, OS tuning, I/O patterns, and SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle.
• Git/GitHub proficiency; governance and documentation habits.
• Infrastructure as code experience: Ansible and Terraform.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience translating business reporting requirements into data models.
• Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and JIRA experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, troubleshoot, and enhance the Edifecs platform for reliable EDI processing.
• Configure and maintain XEServer, XEngine, TPM, SpecBuilder, and related modules.
• Build, deploy, and optimize Edifecs processing rules, routing logic, and batch workflows.
• Analyze and resolve mapping issues, validation failures, functional errors, and performance bottlenecks.
• Manage system logging, JVM tuning, and certificate/keystore configurations.
• Support release deployments, environment refreshes, patching, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps Engineers, Cloud teams, and business teams.
