Job summary

OU Health is seeking an Electronic Data Interface (EDI) Developer II to design, build and deploy integrations between Epic and third-party applications. The role leverages Corepoint and Epic Bridges to implement solutions, document data flows, and ensure interfaces meet specifications.

The candidate will collaborate with the EDI team, PMO, and vendors, diagnose interface issues, and mentor junior developers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 3-5 years of relevant IT or clinical experience required.
• Epic Bridges Certification required upon hire.
• Corepoint Integration Engine Certification required within 3 months of class completion.
• Experience with HL7, X12, FHIR and API data structures.
• Understanding of data structures within an Electronic Health Records.

Responsibilities

• Design and build HL7, FHIR, API integrations between 3rd party apps and Epic using Corepoint and Epic Bridges.
• Document data flow, vendor contacts, specifications and custom translations; review vendor interface specs and develop custom HL7 derivatives.
• Collaborate with EDI team to diagnose and resolve interface issues and participate in projects.
• Identify EDI solutions for business problems with operations and PMO.
• Configure APIs and provide interface support.
• Collaborate with vendors, IT staff and clinical staff to test and implement interfaces to meet specs.
• Analyze, assess, build and maintain data exchange interfaces (HL7, X12, flat files, web services, FHIR, API).
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for all integration methods.
• Attend Change Management Board meetings for approvals of departmental changes.
• Attend PMO and vendor meetings to manage projects.
• Document data flow, processes and logic customizations.
• Mentor EDI Developer I and collaborate with EDI Developer III to implement standards.
