Job summary

GHR Travel Nursing is seeking a Remote ED Coder to join a fast‑paced Emergency Department coding team. The role supports Texas-based operations while you work from home and code ED charts with accuracy.

You will review ED records, assign codes per documentation, and ensure compliance with Level I trauma guidelines, all while meeting productivity targets in a remote setting. Expected start is October 19, 2026, for an initial 26‑week term with potential extension or permanency.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional medical coding experience, preferably in an emergency department setting.
• Experience coding in Level I trauma and teaching hospital environments is preferred.
• Proficiency with EPIC and 3M coding systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in coding injections, infusions, procedures, and diagnoses.
• Strong understanding of ED coding guidelines and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review and accurately code emergency department medical records.
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes based on clinical documentation.
• Code injections, infusions, and other ED procedures.
• Apply current coding guidelines and regulatory requirements to Level I trauma cases.
• Identify incomplete or unclear documentation and pursue clarifications.
• Maintain high coding accuracy while processing approximately 8–9 charts per hour.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with privacy standards.
• Collaborate with coding and clinical teams while working remotely.
