Job summary

Distinguished Programs is hiring a remote E&S Commercial Lines New Business Underwriter focused on Multi-Family, Landlord, Apartment and Condo risks for small urban and mixed-use properties. You will manage the account pipeline, assess risk, and price within guidelines, selling proposals to brokers.

You will communicate with brokers and carriers, ensure underwriting information accuracy, maintain files, resolve issues, and service change requests while meeting deadlines and performance goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of commercial property E&S underwriting experience.
• Understanding of habitational P&C policies preferred.
• Property and Casualty license preferred (6 months preparation time permitted).
• Eager for continual learning; professional designations are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle new business accounts through outbound interaction with various carriers and brokers.
• Work collaboratively with internal sales staff on new business submissions.
• Underwrite habitational risks by identifying risk exposures and criteria against coverage.
• Develop relationships with customers and brokers with a strong customer experience focus.
• Provide solutions for inquiries from brokers and team members.
• Adhere to rating rules with proper file documentation.
• Navigate the online broker portal to complete tasks and troubleshoot.
