Job summary

Fortress Information Security is seeking a Technical Project Manager - FGS to support DoD clients with technical project management and cybersecurity risk guidance. You will help government customers understand, prioritize, and reduce mission risk across engagements.

The role collaborates with internal delivery teams and external stakeholders to align with RMF, NIST standards, and EO 14028 initiatives, ensuring secure system delivery and governance.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required with ability to obtain Top-Secret.
• 5+ years of technical project management experience in cybersecurity or related field.
• Advanced knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks including RMF and accompanying NIST standards.
• Experience supporting or advising ISSO and ISSM functions in risk management and compliance contexts.
• Strong written and verbal communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in regulated environments.
• Must be located within commutable distance of a supported federal work site.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative technical project management support for federal and DoD-aligned engagements.
• Advise government stakeholders on mission, system, and program risk related to cybersecurity and delivery timelines.
• Support ISSOs/ISSMs in enterprise risk reduction efforts.
• Assist clients in understanding and aligning with the DoD RMF.
• Provide guidance aligned with DoD frameworks and NIST standards (SP 800-37/800-53).
• Coordinate with delivery teams to ensure compliance and mission alignment benefits.
• Translate complex cybersecurity concepts for diverse stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, risks, and dependencies; escalate when needed.
• Prepare briefings and advisory documentation for leadership and clients.
