Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a Document Control Specialist II (SRM - CM2) to create clear, accurate technical documentation for the Solid Rocket Motor program. The role supports change control, configuration management, and publishing engineering data with strict adherence to standards.

This position can be remote or on-site at Huntsville, AL, Niceville, FL, or Hampton, AR, offering a flexible work arrangement while contributing to critical defense programs.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree with 2–4 years' experience or equivalent
• Familiarity with change/version control, configuration management, and release practices
• Ability to read contracts and understand documentation requirements

Responsibilities

• Analyzes changes of product design to determine effects and documents changes
• Coordinates with customers and manufacturers to establish change reporting processes
• Reviews engineering change data and ensures adherence to configuration management policies
• Supports departments by collecting and maintaining blueprints, specifications, and drawings
• Ensures documents are retained and destroyed per internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Implements document approval, distribution, modification, and destruction processes
