Job summary

Ensemble Performing Arts is seeking a Division Controller for our Schools Business Unit to lead accounting operations for a portfolio of music and dance schools, ensuring accurate closes and scalable processes.

The role requires deep US GAAP knowledge, multi-entity experience, and the ability to mentor accounting leaders while partnering with school leadership in a remote, fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a controller or senior leadership role.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-state environments; experience with schools/education is a strong plus.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge, including revenue recognition for tuition/program fees.
• Advanced NetSuite experience (or similar ERP) with system implementation or migration leadership.
• Experience with M&A integration and purchase accounting.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop accounting staff and junior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly and year-end closes across a portfolio of schools with balance sheet accountability.
• Oversee revenue recognition for tuition, enrollment, and prepaid revenue; manage deferred revenue.
• Supervise a remote accounting team and manage an outsource relationship.
• Review school-level financial statements and reconciliations; ensure quality control.
• Lead internal controls design and audit preparation for the School Division.
• Lead onboarding of acquired schools into NetSuite and related systems.
