Job summary

Central Garden & Pet is seeking a District Manager to call on Lowe’s, Home Depot and Walmart in the Boston area. You will lead a merchandiser team, conduct store audits, and drive in-store execution of best practices.

The role requires strong communication, independence, and the ability to travel between stores daily. You will develop strategies to increase POS, maintain display integrity, and build relationships with senior account managers.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or extensive amount of retail merchandising.
• 1–2 years of Retail Merchandising experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills to interact with store management and direct reports.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current personal auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate an assigned merchandiser team (up to 4–5 staff).
• Conduct store audits to ensure merchandising fundamentals and best practices are followed.
• Build strong relationships with account management at Home Depot, Lowe’s and Walmart.
• Negotiate additional display space and manage critical timelines (resets, re-labeling, special projects).
• Oversee scheduling, training, and performance of merchandisers across stores.
