Job summary

Federal Aviation Administration in the United States seeks a Supervisory Aviation Technical Systems Specialist (District Facilities Manager) to lead NAS facility maintenance and a technical workforce across multiple district SSCs.

The role reports to the Technical Operations District Manager, plans budgets, guides policy, and represents FAA with interagency and industry groups while promoting EEO and diversity initiatives. Telework is eligible under FAA policies.

Responsibilities

• Directs the maintenance and repair of NAS equipment and facilities within assigned groups.
• Manages a technical workforce across Districts with System Support Centers of varying size and complexity.
• Plans, assigns tasks, monitors performance, coaches employees, approves leave and disciplinary actions as appropriate.
• Defines, plans and organizes budgets, staff and resources to accomplish goals of the Technical Operations organization.
• Resolves problems and helps develop new policies to improve NAS integration and modernization.
• Supports the CONOPS evolution within the District and coordinates with internal/external stakeholders.
• Represents FAA on interagency/industry groups and maintains external relations to facilitate issue resolution.
