Heifer International seeks a Director of Philanthropy to lead major gifts for Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. The role includes cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of donors capable of five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts, with a goal to grow annual funds by 10% in year one.

The ideal candidate has at least five years in fundraising with major gifts, strong research, cultivation strategies, and willingness to travel frequently within the region and beyond.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of progressive fundraising experience with emphasis on major gifts.
• Ability to build a robust pipeline of qualified donors through research and cultivation.
• Proven major gifts fundraising skills with tailored asks based on donor interests.
• Knowledge of fundraising within the philanthropic culture of the Pacific Northwest region.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently, domestically and internationally, and to work from a home office.

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership for a portfolio of up to 150 major gift donors and prospects.
• Aim to increase funds raised by 10% in year one.
• Establish solid stewardship and acknowledgement processes and meet donors in person when possible.
• Identify, solicit, and steward donors; ensure proper staff/volunteer assignment for donors.
• Develop and enhance donor base, pipeline, and prospect identification.
