The Sustainable Food Center seeks a Director of Finance & Accounting to lead the finance function in a hybrid/remote nonprofit environment reliant on government grants. You will steward accounting operations, supervision, and internal controls while guiding long-term planning and analysis in collaboration with leadership.

You will strengthen grant compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, and partner with the CFO to drive strategic financial decisions and organizational resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• 5+ years of supervisory and staff development experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Significant experience with nonprofit accounting and government grant compliance.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a strategic partner to the CFO and leadership team.
• Provide financial guidance to support organizational planning and decision-making.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support presentations and financial reporting for executive leadership, board committees, and the Board of Directors.
• Promote a culture of financial accountability and operational excellence.
• Oversee GAAP-compliant accounting operations and financial reporting processes.
