Job summary

CentraCare Health seeks a Director of Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity to lead the CDI program across the system. This executive role partners with clinical and operational leaders to improve documentation, support value-based care, and strengthen financial performance.

Key functions include aligning strategies with CMS and payer methodologies, directing staffing and workflow, and driving performance improvements across the organization.

Qualifications

• Requires a Registered Nurse license in Minnesota
• CCDS – CCDS certification required
• Minimum 5+ years in acute care; 3+ years in clinical documentation integrity
• Minimum 2+ years of management experience at a director/manager level

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physician leaders, quality, coding, finance, revenue cycle, case management, and operations to ensure accurate, clinically supported documentation reflecting severity of illness, mortality risk, resource use, and quality of care.
• Advances documentation strategies to influence CMS metrics, payer reimbursement, risk-adjusted outcomes, and denials management.
• Uses analytics and best practices to drive CDI initiatives and align with CentraCare priorities.
• Partners with CDI Physician Champions to foster documentation excellence and regulatory compliance.
• Directs daily CDI program operations, including staffing, workflow, and technology utilization.
