Job summary

Perennial seeks a Director of Carbon Program Implementation to lead high-integrity soil carbon project design and registration. You will translate registry requirements into defensible project designs and drive validation through verification, while shaping Perennial’s strategy in the voluntary carbon market.

Responsibilities include end-to-end methodology integrity, internal standards, and engagement with registries, validators, and ecosystem leaders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in carbon project development or standards.
• Experience registering agricultural soil carbon projects in VCM.
• Understanding VM0042/VM0032 and translating requirements into implementation.
• Familiarity with registry rules and project components.
• Experience engaging validators and addressing findings.
• Ability to design soil carbon sampling plans and measurements.
• Strong written communication for project documents.
• Knowledge of voluntary carbon market integrity frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end methodological integrity of soil carbon programs.
• Interpret VM standards and translate to executable strategies.
• Design sampling and data collection for GHG measurements.
• Prepare and defend Project Design Documents with validators.
• Engage with validation bodies and respond to findings.
• Advise on strategic integrity, cost, and scalability.
• Shape registry engagement and industry leadership.
