Job summary

Initiate Government Solutions is seeking a remote DevOps Engineer to design and deliver a secure, scalable cloud-native self-service platform for federal data consumers. You will lead architecture, Kubernetes standards, and end-to-end software delivery while ensuring compliance and reliability.

The role emphasizes DevSecOps ownership, automated CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration with security and product teams to meet government requirements. US Citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS Cloud and/or DevOps at scale.
• Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Understanding of L4, L5, and L7 networking with AWS Resources and Istio or similar.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and scripting languages.
• Experience leading engineering teams and setting program-level standards.
• US Citizenship required due to clearance requirement.

Responsibilities

• Create and foster Self-Service Principles for on-demand platform deployment.
• Architectural Vision & Strategy focused on scalability, security, automation, and UX.
• Stakeholder Engagement to prioritize features and roadmaps with programs.
• Establish and Enforce Standards across the program using DevSecOps practices.
• Provide PaaS solutions with low-code/no-code platforms and API engineering.
• Own end-to-end software development, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
• Drive continuous innovation and ensure governance & compliance.
