Job summary

PhoenixTeam is seeking a Senior DevSecOps & Platform Engineering Lead to own the end-to-end delivery platform, security gates, and AI-enabled workflows for a federal civilian modernization program. You will architect CI/CD, automate environments, and drive observable, secure, reliable deployments across legacy and modern stacks.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on DevSecOps and platform engineering across multiple stacks.
• Experience engineering inside a regulated federal environment.
• Ownership of availability, incident response, and RC analysis.
• Security as an engineering discipline integrated into delivery.
• Demonstrated AI-in-the-loop engineering in daily workflow.
• Technical leadership and architectural decision-making accountability.
• Judgment under ambiguity with alignment in diverse teams.
• U.S.-based and able to obtain/maintain a federal Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and run CI/CD across multiple apps, stacks, and environments with minimal manual intervention.
• Build deployment automation that verifies production releases and rolls back when needed.
• Automate provisioning of environments and enforce configuration drift control.
• Anchor security into the pipeline with automatic gates and remediation within defined windows.
• Build observability across infra, apps, interfaces, and business transactions.
• Own incident and problem management, RC analysis, capacity, and DR for 24/7 systems.
• Lead legacy-to-modern transition while decommissioning is ongoing.
• Improve engineering metrics: build times, deployment freq, toil, and defect escape.
