Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Detection Engineer to join the CWOC/ DCO team. You will craft and tune detection content, analyze security threats, and support incident response across mission networks.

You will leverage Security Onion, Trellix, Microsoft Defender, and Big Data Platform to protect DoD networks, collaborate with analysts, and drive innovation in threat detection and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience in network, infrastructure or security operations.
• Experience with Big Data Platform, Security Onion, Trellix, and Microsoft Defender or Intune configuration.
• Ability to create, modify and tune IDS signatures or SIEM correlation searches and to correlate security events.
• Experience with threat detection, log analysis, TTP mapping, and forensic analysis.
• Translate findings into actionable engineering fixes and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy high-fidelity detection content across security tools.
• Collaborate with analysts and responders to support incident response and forensics.
• Prepare security summaries and reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Monitor and manage network security components and DoD IR processes.
