Position Overview:

We are seeking aSenior Design Project Managerto lead and coordinate design operations for a major app redesign initiative. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless collaboration between design, product, and engineering teams while maintaining alignment with overall project goals and timelines. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in UX/UI project management and a passion for delivering high-quality digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Project Management

• Manage schedules, design tasks, deliverables, dependencies, and cross-team handoffs.
• Oversee design team capacity planning and resource allocation.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to timelines, resourcing, and quality.
• Lead the design review and approval process with defined checkpoints.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as the primary liaison between design and stakeholders in product, engineering, and marketing.
• Participate in PI planning, roadmap discussions, and cross-functional alignment.
• Represent design in program reviews and stakeholder meetings.

Agile & Workflow Operations

• Facilitate design-specific ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
• Collaborate with product managers to ensure design work is accurately reflected in Jira and sprint plans.
• Translate stakeholder inputs into design user stories and acceptance criteria.

UX, UI, & Design Systems Support

• Support UX research and usability testing within sprint cadences.
• Promote and enforce design quality and feasibility across deliverables.
• Ensure delivery of design assets and documentation using tools like Figma and ZeroHeight.
• Uphold consistency via design systems and component governance.

Communication & Governance

• Create documentation, meeting notes, and leadership updates for visibility and accountability.
• Track responsibilities, deadlines, and progress across design team members.
• Promote design operations best practices to ensure clarity and collaboration.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of digital project or program management experience (3+ years supporting UX/UI or product design teams).
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Figma, and ZeroHeight.
• Solid understanding of agile and waterfall methodologies.
• Experience managing end-to-end digital design projects.
• Deep knowledge of UX/UI workflows, research, visual design, and design systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

• Experience with large-scale app or platform redesigns.
• Familiarity with design tokens and development hand-off tools.
• Background in consumer-facing digital product environments.
