Job summary

Thrivent is seeking a Manager of Design to lead a cross-disciplinary team of UI/UX designers, researchers, and content specialists, shaping product strategy and roadmaps while upholding high design standards. You will mentor 5-8 designers and researchers, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Stakeholders to deliver quality, user-centered experiences.

You will drive agile design processes, advocate for user-centric design, and partner with leaders to ensure designs align with business

Qualifications

• 8+ years in related field with at least 5 years in user experience, interaction design, product design and research in a product development team
• At least 3 years with managerial experience
• Proven experience navigating and collaborating with different enterprise areas to prioritize work and identify high-impact opportunities
• Ability to motivate, inspire and organize a team of 5-8 designers and researchers
• Manage a team like a business owner with tradeoffs and prioritization decisions
• Excellent communication and persuasion skills with stakeholders
• Understanding of impact metrics to focus and reprioritize design efforts
• Experience working with design systems and agile practices

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a cross-functional design team of product designers and UX researchers
• Develop processes for tackling design problems and facilitate cross-functional engagement
• Lead problem framing and holistic product experience initiatives
