Job summary

SES Space & Defense is seeking a program management professional to lead complex government and aerospace programs from kickoff through closeout. You will coordinate across engineering, contracts, finance, and supply chain to ensure cost, schedule, and technical performance align with customer commitments.

The role requires strong organizational and analytical skills, the ability to influence without authority, and experience in regulated government contracting environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience or Master's degree with 6+ years in U.S. Government or aerospace programs.
• Experience leading projects, IPTs, cost accounts, or cross-functional execution in complex technical programs.
• Strong understanding of program lifecycle execution including planning, scheduling, risk management, budgeting, and customer coordination.
• Proven analytical skills to translate requirements into executable actions.
• Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation abilities.
• Experience in regulated government contracting environments and with contractual deliverables and compliance.
• Familiarity with EVM, program controls, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Proven ability to lead and influence matrixed teams in fast-paced settings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of complex aerospace and government programs, aligning to contractual, technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Coordinate cross-functional IPTs across engineering, contracts, finance, supply chain, and external partners.
• Partner with Program Leadership and Chief Engineering to manage execution, risk, and priorities.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and Earned Value Management tracking.
• Lead risk and opportunity management with mitigation planning and program reviews.
• Interface with government customers to communicate status and resolve issues.
• Support change management to document baselines and scope modifications.
• Ensure delivery of contractual deliverables and program reporting requirements.
• Present metrics and updates to leadership and customers.
• Assist in proposals, business plans, and financial terms of contracts.
• Drive continuous improvement, discipline, and cross-team communication.
