Job summary

Global Sports Jobs Limited is seeking a data scientist to leverage sportswriting insights, in-game experience and subscriber usage to enhance product recommendations. You’ll collaborate with data, product, growth and engineering teams to build advanced ML models and production-ready pipelines.

The role focuses on understanding user behavior, driving predictive insights and improving workflows with data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience as a data scientist or data analyst with a proven ability to apply scientific methods to real-world problems on web-scale data.
• Strong working knowledge of Python to train ML models and deploy to production.
• Solid understanding of SQL with ability to pull/write to data warehouses.
• Understanding of subscription media and recommendation engines, and turning insights into optimisations.
• Knowledge of statistical principles and how they apply to predictive modelling.
• Strong verbal and written communication, with ability to build cross-functional relationships.
• Ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences and tell compelling data-driven stories.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and implement mathematical models to drive long-term product goals (e.g., predicting which free users subscribe).
• Lead projects with hands-on analysis and modelling using appropriate analytical methods.
• Use quantitative analysis to understand user feedback and derive recommendations.
• Design and develop data science pipelines in production.
• Guide complex experiments and drive data-informed decisions.
• Foster an outstanding data science culture and environment.
