Job summary

Datafold is seeking a Data Scientist focused on Migration Intelligence in the United States. You will evaluate tools for data migration, build models to assess risk and data quality, and drive end-to-end migration projects from scoping to delivery.

You will design data pipelines, implement quality monitoring, and develop playbooks and frameworks to accelerate customer migrations while collaborating across internal teams and partners.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field.
• At least 2 years in Data Science, Technology Evaluation, or Applied Analytical roles, with experience assessing AI/ML technologies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate third-party tools, platforms, and emerging tech for data migration, infrastructure, and AI-assisted workflows; perform build-vs-buy assessments.
• Develop quantitative models to assess migration risk, data quality, and data consistency across source and target databases during migrations.
• Coordinate end-to-end delivery of data migration projects including scoping, sequencing, milestones, risk, and cross-functional execution.
• Design, build, and maintain internal data pipelines and supporting infrastructure integrating diverse data sources for analytics and reporting.
• Create repeatable analytical playbooks, migration frameworks, and data-driven accelerators from hands-on delivery.
• Implement data quality monitoring, automated regression validation, and lineage analysis using Python and SQL.
• Evaluate cloud and multi-cloud environments for cost, reliability, and integration risk with analytical recommendations.
• Implement data models, dashboards, and internal reporting unifying information for product, sales, and ops teams.
• Support technology partnerships by assessing integration opportunities and coordinating implementations.
• Act as an internal SME for data pipeline evaluation and migration methodologies and translate findings into product feedback.
