Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist to deliver data-driven insights and predictive models. You will partner with stakeholders, data engineers, and development teams to analyze complex datasets, build visualizations, and apply ML techniques in an Agile environment.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field, 3–5 years of experience, and proficiency in SQL, Python, and R, along with Power BI/Tableau expertise. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in data analytics or data science roles
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and R
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools, including data modeling and DAX
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
• Understanding of statistical methods and probability theory

Responsibilities

• Process, cleanse, and verify data integrity for analysis and modeling
• Perform ad-hoc and recurring analyses to support decision-making
• Analyze large datasets to extract insights using statistical and ML techniques
• Build, evaluate, and optimize classification and predictive models
• Apply data mining to identify trends and relationships in data
• Enrich datasets with third‑party sources to improve outcomes
• Enhance data collection and preparation for analytic systems
• Use modeling and evaluation strategies to predict future instances
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align analytics with business goals
• Gather requirements and translate them into BRDs, user stories, and specs
• Analyze datasets to identify trends and actionable insights
• Build and maintain dashboards/reports in Power BI/Tableau
• Apply statistical methods and ML for forecasting and decision-making
• Collaborate with Azure DevOps to manage work items and delivery
• Support data science initiatives using SQL, Python, R, and Excel
• Work with data engineering on analytics pipelines and data lakes
